Mr. Sommer is the owner and managing member of the law office. Always expecting excellence from himself and others, he has a reputation for quality work and attention to detail. His practice areas include civil litigation, family law, probate, criminal defense, and post-conviction appeals.
Mr. Sommer was the Valedictorian of his undergraduate class at Utah Valley University where he received his bachelor’s degree in History and a minor in Political Science. He was the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of History and nominated for Scholar of the Year for his work on the Journal.
Mr. Sommer graduated from the William S. Boyd School of Law, at the University of Nevada, where he attended law school on a full scholarship. While still in Law School, Mr. Sommer was admitted to practice law by the Nevada Supreme Court under a special court rule. He represented numerous defendants accused of misdemeanor and felony offenses in the Eighth Judicial District Court in Las Vegas. During his third year, he received the prestigious CALI award for legal analysis and writing.
Prior to opening his practice in Churchill County, he accepted an appointment for one year as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable David A. Huff. Mr. Sommer also worked for the Honorable Michelle Leavitt as a judicial extern in the Eighth Judicial District Court, as well as for the Office of the Federal Public Defender in Las Vegas as an appellate law clerk.
Mr. Sommer is a member of the State Bar of Nevada, State Bar of Utah, Nevada Trial Lawyers Association, American Bar Association, Young Lawyers Association, and Rotary International.
